Lost and Found by Carolyn Parkhurst Giveaway!

About Lost and Found by Carolyn Parkhurst:

"Parkhurst treats the game show as an opportunity for the contestants to decide, as the producer asks of them, "What have you found?" The answer for readers: heart and wit to spare." —Publisher's Weekly

Summary by the publisher:

A suburban mom, her troubled daughter, divorced brothers, former child stars, born-again Christians, and some young millionaires have all been selected to compete on LOST AND FOUND, a daring new reality show. In pairs of two, they will race across the world to compete for a million-dollar prize. The only question is not only who will capture the big jackpot, but at what price.

Carolyn Parkhurst is also the author of the bestseller The Dogs of Babel.

"[A] deeply affecting page-turner.... Parkhurst endows each [character] with complexity and pathos, even when she doesn't approve of the choices they make. What emerges is less a satire than a straightforward character study—one that we're reluctant to put down even after the last contestant crosses the finish line." —Rebecca Marx, Elle Magazine

This sounds like a good read. I'm intrigued that she's included a TV show that sounds like The Amazing Race. I'd love to read it. milou2ster@gmail.com

I agree with bermudaonion that this reminds me of the Amazing Race and I am starting to enjoy that show. I would like to read the book in the hopes of getting some strategy to become a contestant on the show.

O.K. Let me get this straight - in reality, we have real live people trying to win a fictional account of a reality show where fictional live people try to win big money because the fictional reality show reminds real nonfictional people of a real reality show that's popular because it shows real nonfictional people trying to win real big money.
I want to win.
Really.

It sounds amazing! It's like a combination between a hit reality TV show and game show The Amazing Race. I loved that show, watched it for like 5 seasons straight!

This sounds just like that show, Amazing Race! How cool is that.

I'd be interested in reading this because I'd love to know how their lives intersect with each other and if there are happy endings all around.

I'd like to read this book because the author was a panelist at a writing conference I attended earlier this year and she talked about writing this book. It sounds interesting.
