back into reading

oh, wow. we got rid of so much junk!! It was all worth it for sure. I keep finding things around the house now that I know I should have put out there....since I won't be doing another garage sale for a long time :).

So now I am getting back into reading. I am in the middle of Septembers of Shiraz and Three Cups of Tea. I am not going to make my goal of 12 books for the month of July, but that is okay. I also just read The Alchemist and will review it soon. My favorite out of the three is for sure Septembers of Shiraz, but the other two are good as well.

Thank you THANK YOU for all your comments last week, I am so blessed and was encouraged by your super sweet words. I am so happy that I can now finally get back to commenting as well!!!

Glad it went well Bethany and was worth your while. It's a good feeling to get rid of clutter and start over.

I just started Septembers of Shiraz-I'm probably a quarter of a way but that won't last long. It's really quite good and will be a fast read.

Happy reading!

I am so happy that your yard sale went well. My mother has an after sale high that can make her cackle like a witch. In fact, it's the very same cackle I heard over the phone when I told her that I was pregnant. Hmm???

I haven't read any of those books, so I'm going to look forward to reading your reviews.

If it makes you feel any better, I won't be making my goal either. I was on a good role until I hit The i Tetralogy. Oh well... I'm still proud of the progress I've made into my TBR pile. I'm glad we both participated in the July Book Blowout. When you miss your goals together, we're not alone in our "failure." ;)

Hey Bethany, glad to hear you're not through Three Cups of Tea yet either. I was feeling bad for being behind myself.
The Alchemist is next on my list too. I'm really looking forward to hearing what you have to say about both of them.
And glad your yard sale went well. You must feel so relieved to be rid of the clutter.

September of Shiraz was my favorite of the three too. It had great writing, a good story and heart and insight, the major things I look for in a book.

Three Cups of Tea and The Alchemist were good too though. Did it take you forever to get through Three Cups of Tea? It seemed like it took me waaaay longer than usual to finish that one.

Bethany: I'm getting bogged down myself in Three Cups of Tea. It's not that I don't appreciate what Greg Mortenson is doing. It's just that I have a feeling sometimes I know what it is coming: Sept. 11, etc. That said, I look forward to our discussion over at Book Blogs when we all do get finished.

The Alchemist: I've read so many mixed reviews on this book. Some people love it; others hate it. I'll be interested to see your review, especially since I have it as one of my books for the Orbis Terrarum Challenge.

Re: Montalbano. I absolutely read them in order. I'm super obsessed with reading mystery series especially in order. That's why I can't read The Nine Tailors by Dorothy Sayers for one of the challenges in which I'm participating. I haven't read the other Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries yet. As for Camilleri's detective, I'm only at The Snack Thief so far (speaking of which I need to start reading here before Tuesday's gone). Our local library doesn't have any of them so I have to wait for them to come via interlibrary loan.

I'm almost done with SEptembers of Shiraz- I agree it's really good. Three Cups of Tea is my book club's pick in September.

I haven't heard of Septembers of Shiraz but I'd definitely have to check it out! I look forward to reading your reviews of all three--I've heard really good things about The Alchemist.
