So glad to see I'Jaam gets the Happy Chicken! Loved, loved that book as you know. I have been meaning to give it another read... and you've inspired me to count how many books I've read this year. Funny I hadn't thought to do it yet...

Happy New Year!!!

So glad I clicked on the post because none of the pictures showed up in my reader and I thought the post was incomplete. Such a beautiful array of books--congrats on a wonderful reading year, Bethany!!

Bethany - that's a whole lot of reading. Congratulations!

Interesting to see both A Secret Life of Bees and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society in your 'favs' list. I have A Secret Life of Bees on my TBR shelf and I've heard a heck of a lot of good things about The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

I'm even more drawn towards the latter after reading Libby Cone's War on the Margins

108 books, that's incredible! In 2007, I read 96 books, and it felt like my eyeballs were going to fall out of my head. I had to cut back a bit this year as life got a bit crazy. But in 2009 I'm hoping to get that 100 mark!

I read The Hiding Place years ago -- it was riveting. I need to read it again some time. I need to read Watership Down because I keep hearing references to it.
