Book blogging is fun and all, but sometimes it is nice to get a little extra treat. For me that treat was today. My husband stayed home with the boys and I went to the coffee shop to finish my book for my Pretty Paper Book Club, it is my real life book club here in Corvallis, Oregon. We were reading Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis for this month. I finished it at our grand Sunnyside Cafe about a minute before I was supposed to be a book club. Lucky for me everyone else was just on time too.
That isn't even the best part! I am excited to announce I have met my first real-life fellow book blogger in person! YAY!! It was so fun to meet Alyce from At Home with Books who lives but 30 minutes from where I live! We gathered for lunch at Evergreen Indian Restaurant, and then off to coffee (tea or decaf too) and desert for our sugar addict tummies, Oh, and to discuss the book. It was a blast, Alyce is the perfect new addition to our group and it seems she enjoyed herself too. I am so happy she did.
The only two things I am bummed about: 1.) I brought my camera and forgot to take pictures (it is what I do every time). 2.) I have to wait a whole month to have a cool bookie day with good girlie friends again!! ....oh, what a life! ha! ;)

I've met a couple of fellow bloggers and it was totally exciting! I am looking forward to meeting more at some stage.
I am so jealous - I wish I could discover a book blogger near me.
I'm one of those annoying people. . .the first thing I take out is my camera to document my travels!
That's so awesome Bethany! I'd love to meet some fellow bloggers one day.
That sounds so wonderful - the book club and meeting Alyce. I was at one of my friend's homes yesterday, and we might be starting a book club of sorts after the new year. We might not all read the same book each month, but just talk about what we've been reading. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I hope it catches on. I've been wanting to be part of one for so long.
How much fun!! My favorite real life blogging buddy (Laura) works we me so we chit chat about books all day long. So great--I haven't met anyone who I didn't know in real life first, though.
