This has been a fun book week. I have set aside the assigned reading and even though I feel somewhat guilty about neglecting that I have had such a great reading week and don't regret it at all. There are some things that I should read, but seriously isn't it more fun to read when you scrap the schedule and read what you want to?! Maybe I am just rebellious :)
I have read so many good books lately that I have been trying to scamper to fill in a bad one, I have not been able to, I failed at this. I even thought that maybe when I picked up The Laws of Harmony that I would just have like it, or not like it at all (as the cover is a little Jodi Picoult, and she is not my fave), but I was horribly wrong to even assume that. The book is stunning and captivating and beautiful and I just can't put it down. That is the way it was with all my books this week. The Boy in Striped Pyjamas is a stunning read, it was done way too soon, I was living it from the second I read the first paragraph. It is a must read!
What amazing books have you read this week? Have you read any of the books I have read or reviewed this week? Tell me your thoughts!
A week at B&b ex libris:

I've got to get my hands on those Emma books! You make them sound so good. :) Sounds like you had a very fun reading week.
I just read The Boy in the Striped Pajamas too. The ending came out of nowhere and totally shocked me.
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is a wonderful book, but so sad. I'm interested to see how it plays out on film when it's released - the trailer is here http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/theboyinthestripedpajamas/
I agree with Alyce on needing to get the Emma books!
I've got the first Emma on hold at the library. Have a great week!
I'm currently reading Follow Me, and so far it's just okay, too. I've a little issue with the writing, in fact. But I still want to continue reading it, so I'll reserve judgment till after I'm done. And I'll read your review then, too, and compare notes.
And, btw, I was at the library last Friday with the kids, and while they were picking out books to borrow, I picked up Hugo Cabret and browsed a little and knew I was going to fall in love with it. After checking it out, I was trying to remember where I read about it, and now I remember it was you! So thanks for putting that book in my unconscious! I wanted to read it right away but realized it would be fun to read with the boys. :D
I'm eager to read Striped Pajamas...have it on my wishlist and this is my un-birthday month...fingers crossed.
I loved Laws of Harmony too. It was a truly charming read.
YAY I'm doing the *happy dance* that you like Laws of Harmony! Looking forward to your review!
I read Follow me this week and I have been reading lots of interesting and thought provoking books lately. Not a lot of lemon. I like it that way,
Glad you are enjoying Emma! I think it is a great series!
if you're looking for a tough read, try 'house of leaves'. after almost 10 years, i'm still struggling with it. :)
isn't it great when you find a bunch of good books in a row. don't lament...the bad books could be around the corner
