How is it working out for you?? I am curious about those who have turned off their word verification recently. Have you been spammed? I still get virtually no spam at all...but maybe it is different for you. I am interested in knowing.Thanks so much to all of you who have joined in on this, posted it on your blog sidebars, and some have gone even as far as to post it at the end of each of their posts!!!!! WAY COOL!!! So many of you have joined, and have been just as excited about this movement as me. Thanks for making it a movement, I hoped it would grow, but I can't make a movement alone...it would just be a rant without you!!! THANK YOU!!!

I've never heard of this movement, but I've never used that annoying thing :)
Well I don't know if I've had mine off for a week yet but I've had no spam.
I actually thought mine was turned off but your post prompted me to double check and it is now! I've had it disabled on my other blog for 18 months now and had probably no more than two spam comments in that time.
Kill Word Verification!
I got rid of word verification several weeks ago and have had no problems. It wasn't something I'd thought about really. I've had more comments lately, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
Now if only my stupid Blogger profile would magically fix itself! LOL

I've had about 5 spam messages since I turned off my word verification and three were from the same company.
my report: no spam!! i am loving this! and yeah.. like anna says, i have so many more comments now.. is it because of the word verfiication or is the blogging world just more "chatty" these days??:)

Haha...I will try and do another test. I did that a couple of months ago but did have a lot of spam at that time. Hence why all of my blogs are having the word verification thingy. I guess the one of blogger isn't the worst though.
